At Donvale Primary School, sport provides students with opportunities to participate, challenge themselves and work as part of a team. Our sport program encourages students to enjoy being active, develop confidence and experience the value of fair play and teamwork.
We place a strong emphasis on maximum participation, ensuring students of all abilities feel welcome and supported to take part.
Participation in district sporting events begins in Year 4, with students encouraged to take part in a variety of seasonal sports.
Across the year, district sports may include:

Term 3 – Basketball and Athletics
Term 4 – Basketball
These events provide students with opportunities to represent the school, set personal goals and experience competition in a supportive environment.

House events build school spirit, belonging and connection across year levels. Students are encouraged to wear their House colours and support one another.

These events celebrate effort, participation and teamwork.
Students in Years 5 and 6 have opportunities to participate in inter-school sport within the Doncaster District during Terms 2 and 3.

Through inter-school sport, students develop skills in teamwork, goal setting and resilience, while learning the importance of being a good sport and striving for personal bests.

Students may also have opportunities to progress to district, division, regional and state levels in sports such as cross country, swimming and athletics.
All students from Prep to Year 6 participate in an intensive five-day swimming program at Aqualink Box Hill. This program supports water safety, confidence and skill development in a safe and supportive environment.
