The levels represent typical progress of students at key points within the stages of learning. It is recognised that students progress at individual rates and may demonstrate achievement at a particular level earlier or later than typical. The six levels associated broadly with the years of schooling from Prep to Year 10 as follows:

Level 1 – End of Prep Year
Level 2 – End of Year 2
Level 3 – End of Year 4
Level 4 – End of Year 6
Level 5 – End of Year 8
Level 6 – End of Year 10
