| All students from Prep to Year 6 participate in a weekly 1hr Physical Education session run by a Physical Education Specialist. The 11 Fundamental Motor Skills of Catch, Kick, Run, Vertical Jump, Overhand Throw, Ball Bounce, Leap, Dodge, Punt, Forehand Strike and Two-Hand Side-Arm Strike drive our Physical Education Program at Donvale Primary School. Over their primary school years our students develop these skills and then put them into practice firstly in modified games and team sports and then through Intraschool & Interschool Sport.

Our Level 1 students participate in a weekly Perpetual Motor Program through out the year. This program plays a vital role in these students’ physical development. All students also participate in an annual 5-day intensive swimming program, which is run by Aqualink in Box Hill. All children participate in a 5 week intensive sequential Gymnastic program.
Through the PE program our students experience a wide variety of incursions run by various Sporting Associations. The following are examples of some of the incursions our students are involved in from Level 1 to Level 4; Hockey Clinics, Football Clinics, Tennis Clinics, European Handball Clinics, Cricket Clinics, Basketball and Athletics Clinics.
Sport
Level 4 students have a 2 hour inter-school sport session each week during term 1 and 2 against local schools in the Doncaster area. The planning for these sessions is done in conjunction with the PE Specialist. The main focus of these sessions is modified games and team sports.
Participation in Intraschool Sport Programs commences in Level 3.
- Term 1 - Cricket, Softball, Rounders & Bat Tennis
- Term 2 - Football, Soccer, Netball, Tee ball & basketball
- Term 3 - Athletics
- Term 4 - Cricket, Softball, Rounders, Bat Tennis,Newcombe & basketball
Participation in District Sporting Events commences in Level 3 and Level 4. District Sporting Events allow our students the opportunities to compete at a higher level in the following sports; District Swimming, District Cross Country, District Athletics. An emphasis is placed on being a good sport, an effective team member, goal setting and the achievement of one's personal best. Maximum participation is also a key aspect.
House Sport
The students in Level 3 and 4 participate in our annual House Sports.
- emphasis is on participation, team skills and developing a positive attitude towards sport.
