Hi,

My name is Francesca. The DPS Animal Club, Heads and Tails, is one of the finalists because we have done our best and done a lot of things to help animals. I LwVE every animal on planet earth. I have been selected to go to the Animal Club awards in Sydney. I am going with my sister, Gabriella, our teacher Miss Cartledge and Josh. I was selected to go to Sydney because I care a lot about animals and Animal Club. There is lots of animals in the world, I can’t take care of each and every one so I so I help in Animal Club. This year we have helped to look after donkeys, pigs, dogs and wild life.

On the 3rd of December we are going to Sydney for the day. We are going to have lunch at a café near the sea. We are also going to the Sydney Opera House and I think we are going on the Sydney Harbour Bridge to get there. I am very excited about going to Sydney. I am looking forward to the plane trip and the exciting day in Sydney. It is very special to be chosen to go to Sydney to represent Heads and Tails and Donvale Primary School.

Hello my name is Gabriella and I am in 1\2C. It is great to be in a loveable caring animal club. I was chosen because we are great animal carers and have been very busy helping animals. This year we collected baskets and blankets for the injured koalas, we made posters to say not to leave dogs in cars especially on a hot day. We also helped the donkeys who hardly had any food, we raised some money for them. We made pig noses for everyone at school and had a pig come to the school to remind everyone to be kind to the pigs and other animals.

I am very excited about the trip. We are going to Sydney on a plane. Sometimes I feel a bit scared when we are taking off but when we get higher I start to feel better. When we are in Sydney we are going to the Sydney Opera House and we are also going to do some arts and crafts about animals. I am looking forward to meeting the other students from the 3 other schools who have been chosen to be in the top four Animal Clubs. It will be interesting to find out what they have been doing for animals.

I am very proud of all animal clubs for doing lots of things for animals and I am proud to have been chosen to go to Sydney to represent my school.

Hi my name is Joshua and I am a member in Donvale Primary School’s Animal Club. Our school’s Animal Club was chosen to fly to Sydney because we were in the top four out of all of Australia for doing things for animals. I think our animal club deserves it because we went around to our friends and family and sold tickets to raise money for the donkeys. Then we got to present the money to a special donkey called Jimmy. Next we worked on stopping the pigs from getting locked up all alone with no friends and no mud. I think that that would be like us having no friends. Then we had another special visitor just a few weeks ago. It was a pig and he was called Wilbur. He was a very special pig because he got to walk down the red carpet when the movie Charlotte’s Web was released.

I think I was selected to go to Sydney because I’m always helping the little kids during Animal Club time. When we are in Sydney I’m hoping that we will get to see the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera house and Taronga Zoo.
If somebody asked me “How do you think animals should be treated?” I would say “They should be treated really well because they deserve to have a good life just as much as we do.” If somebody asked me “How do you help animals?” I would say “I help animals by putting all my rubbish in the bin, not hurting their habitats and by joining Animal Club because we raise money to help the animals and it teaches people to respect animals in many ways.” I think this trip is going to be great because Animal Club gets a chance to get $5000. We might be on TV and in the newspaper. We might go across the Harbour Bridge if we’re lucky. What do I love about animals the most? I love it when I wake up to the sound of birds chirping and getting to play with my pets.
